How we collect and use personal information through this website. Plain English. No surprises.

Who we are

Solid Code Solutions Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for any personal information you provide through this website.

  • Company: Solid Code Solutions Ltd
  • Registered office: 20–22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU
  • Company number: 08750436
  • Email: info@solidcodesolutions.co.uk

What we collect

When you contact us through this site, we collect the information you submit:

  • Through the contact form: your name, email address, company name (optional), the type of enquiry (optional), and the message you write.
  • By direct email or any other channel you use to reach us.

When you visit any page on this site, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs technical information — your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visit and timestamps. This is standard server access logging used to keep the site running and protect it from abuse.

We don't use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking on this site. We don't set any cookies for analytics or marketing.

Why we collect it

We use what you submit to:

  • Reply to your enquiry
  • Decide whether and how we can help
  • Keep a record of correspondence with prospective and current clients

We use server logs to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website.

Our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR we rely on:

  • Legitimate interests — for responding to enquiries and operating the website
  • Contract — where you become a client, for the work we do for you and the records we need to keep
  • Consent — for any future marketing. We don't currently send marketing. If that ever changes, we'll ask you first.

Who we share it with

We share information only with:

  • Netlify — our hosting and form-handling provider, which receives form submissions and serves the website.
  • Any third party we are required by law to share with — for example, in response to a court order or lawful request from a regulator.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with marketing or advertising networks.

International transfers

Netlify is based in the United States. Where personal information is transferred to Netlify, that transfer is covered by Netlify's certification under the UK extension of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the UK government has approved as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred to the US.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions and email correspondence for as long as we have an active or recently-active relationship with you, plus a reasonable retention period for business records — typically up to 6 years to satisfy UK accounting and tax requirements. After that we delete or anonymise the information.

Server access logs are kept for a limited period by Netlify in line with their retention policies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Have your information deleted, subject to our legal obligations
  • Object to or restrict our processing
  • Data portability — receive your information in a structured, machine-readable form

To exercise any of these rights, email sales@solidcodesolutions.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you think we've handled your information unfairly, please email us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
