About

Small. Senior. Hands on the work.

Solid Code Solutions is a UK software consultancy. We deliver for enterprise and public-sector clients, partner with startup founders end-to-end, and build our own products.

Who we are

A consultancy that ships.

We're a small, senior team. The people who scope the work are the people who write the code — and the people who'll still be on the project six months in. No middle layer of project managers, no juniors thrown at problems they can't see the shape of.

That's how we've delivered for organisations like DHL, Sainsbury's, the Department for Education, Freshfields and Reed — and how we've helped a wine merchant cut their order processing time by 90%.

It's also how we build our own products. Cloak — our cyber-safety brand for teenagers — is the current example. Same engineering bar. Different audience.

Technical depth

The disciplines underneath the work.

The four service threads on the surface sit on top of fifteen-plus years of production engineering. A few of the disciplines we lean on day to day — and the part most teams underinvest in until something breaks.

Data systems & modelling

Schema design, SQL and NoSQL, performance and migrations. The decisions you make at the data layer pay back — or hurt — for years.

Identity & security

OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO and least-privilege design. Built in from the start, not bolted on after a pen test.

Backend & APIs

Scalable APIs and services in TypeScript/Node, Python and C#. Built to be picked up by other engineers without a tour.

Event-driven & serverless

Pipelines and integrations that scale with the business and stay cheap to run when the business is quiet.

Platform integrations

Stripe, Zendesk, Zoom, Microsoft 365 and the long tail of third-party APIs. The seams between systems are where the real work hides.

Practical AI in production

LLM features, retrieval and semantic search, automation layered on top of existing data and workflows. Where it earns its place.

How we work

Why we work this way.

Four things you can hold us to. They sound obvious. They aren't, in this industry.

01

Outcomes, not features.

We measure the work by what changes for the business — time saved, errors removed, revenue unblocked — not by the length of the backlog.

02

Senior team, hands on.

The people who scope it are the people who build it. No farming the work down a chain.

03

Honest scoping.

We'll tell you when we're not the right people, when AI is the wrong answer, or when the simpler thing will get you 90% of the way there.

04

Built to keep running.

Lean architectures that stay cheap as you grow. Code other people can pick up. Nothing left for someone else to clean up later.

Where we're based

Leamington Spa — and wherever the work needs us.

We're based in Royal Leamington Spa in Warwickshire — a regency town in the middle of the country, near enough to London, Birmingham and Manchester to be useful, and far enough out to be calm.

Most of our work happens remotely or hybrid. We come on-site when it earns its place — kicking off a project, working through a hard problem in a room together, or being there when something goes live.

Selected clients

The kind of organisations who've trusted us with the work.

A mix of enterprise, public sector and growing businesses. Each engagement scoped and delivered by the same senior team that scoped it.

DHL Sainsbury's Department for Education Freshfields Reed

Plus the growing businesses, agencies and startup founders that don't always show up on a logo strip — but where most of the interesting work happens.

Working here

For engineers who want both.

If you want client work and product ambition — both, not one or the other — there are very few places set up to give you that. We're one of them.

We're not running a permanent careers page. But if the way we work resonates and you'd like to be on our radar for the next time we hire or collaborate, drop us a line.
